Our Story

LKM-Hilaris Educational Institution, accredited “A” by the Education Office of the Republic of Indonesia, implements the Cambridge, Singapore, and Chinese (Mandarin) curricula for elementary, junior high, and senior high school levels, and applies the Montessori method in playgroup and kindergarten. It is a holistic educational institution that focuses on three core pillars: Academics, Character, and Skills.

As a national-plus trilingual school, LKM-Hilaris combines the enriched national curriculum with intensive learning in three languages — Indonesian, English, and Mandarin — to equip students with global communication skills while maintaining strong national values.

The school began as a playgroup and tutoring center, then expanded into kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and senior high school, driven by requests from parents who were satisfied with their children’s learning outcomes. The tutoring programs are not limited to English, but also include Mandarin, basic literacy and numeracy (reading, writing, arithmetic), and academic tutoring from elementary to vocational school levels.

This educational institution was founded by Dr. Debby Andriany, M.M., a Doctor of Educational Management, who has been involved in education since the age of 15. Her father, a former lecturer who retired early, opened an English course institution, which later inspired her journey in education. Under her passionate and innovative leadership, LKM-Hilaris continues to grow and evolve, supported by educational insights gained from visits and collaborations in countries such as Finland, Turkey, Singapore, and Malaysia. The institution highly values quality education, continuously improving both teaching excellence and infrastructure development.

Grounded in the values of Pancasila and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity), the school provides places of worship for all religions within its environment. This reflects its belief that education should not divide differences, but instead teach students to respect and embrace diversity. Recently, the Head of the Education Office remarked that LKM-Hilaris truly embodies the spirit of a Pancasila school, producing Pancasila-minded students. Respect among students of different faiths is a natural part of school life — for instance, when some students are fasting, others refrain from eating in front of them, and it is common to see students patiently waiting for their friends to finish praying.

There are many more unique features and programs at every level of LKM-Hilaris, both in school and in its various course programs, which are also open to students from outside the institution.
